I love photography. I cannot imagine life without it. All of us have thousands of images on our mobile devices because we see something interesting, beautiful, or special enough that we want to remember it.
The difference in that and my photography is that I want to take the things you love - your pets, your family, you and capture them so you can be in them! You can be a part of them! Not the one behind the scenes.
Both are amazing, but I highly encourage you to be in front of the camera more!
We are blessed with the technology, now we just have to have to know and appreciate that our loved ones want photos of us too.
I started my journey around 20 years ago and took it up a notch 18 years ago. I photographed portraits and weddings with a friend of mine and we loved it!
But then we all know what happened. The time warp called covid - when everything changed.
After things started to come back, I realized I had needed the break. Not from friends (my clients) but to just get back to our new normal. I am a gramma now and I love to share my time with my family, pets, and enjoying my garden.
Fast forward to 2026 when I went on a trip to Ohio and brought my camera with. I captured some images of a young lady that I adore, with her horses. My heart was in its glory. I was inspired! I love horses, dogs, birds (all animals) and being with her with her horse... it just clicked. No pun intended. I was missing this!
So...
I bought a new camera, a couple of new lenses and started to think about what I wanted. A business that allows me family time, and to capture things I love.
My love and bestie with wings, Maggie, is likely in hundreds of our photos at this point and I named the business after her. She is my muse, my everyday companion, work buddy, boss.. (if you have chickens you love, you understand)
Maggie Lane was created and here we are!
I look forward to my next chapter capturing animals, their people, families, and senior portraits. Life is a gift, and I love to capture it.
I'm back!
Love, Carrie
